Lark Ring’s practice takes shape through observation, collection, and conceptual reframing. Using these methods, Ring traces how meaning is produced and made credible in everyday life. The work is at times developed in collaboration with other artists and practitioners whose knowledge and experience relate directly to the subjects being explored.
Ring begins with what is already present: objects in circulation, professional visual codes, institutional formats, and the subtle cues that signal authority. By repurposing these materials and languages, they create installations, performances, and site-responsive situations that disclose the social scripts through which art is encountered and negotiated.
Rather than offering resolution, the work constructs spaces that hold contradictions and keep interpretation in motion. It examines how legitimacy is staged, how labour is disguised or aestheticised, and how systems become familiar through repetition. Moving between sincerity and satire, and between the personal and the systemic, it approaches certainty as something constructed and maintained rather than simply given.
